Campbell, Sister Teresa (Mary Teresa), 90, died suddenly in Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, NS on January 14, 2018.  Born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of Doctor Peter Smythe and Ida (Tompkins) Campbell.  She entered the Sisters of CharityHalifax in 1950 and made her first profession on April 5, 1953.   Sister Teresa served the congregation as a music teacher for 47 years, spending the greater part in the Halifax area.  She also taught in Port Hawkesbury and Amherst.  As well as teaching music, Sister Teresa taught French for four years in Halifax.  After she retired to the Motherhouse in 1997, Sister Teresa continued teaching music and pursued her love of language by studying German. Sister Teresa is survived by her brother, Emmett (Hope) and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, her sisters: Elizabeth McCarthy and Nora Campbell and her brothers: Bishop Colin, Patrick, Doctor John Edward and Duncan. The body will be in Caritas Residence on Thursday, January 18, with visitation from 3pm until the Prayer Service at 7pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 19, in the Immaculate Conception Chapel in Caritas Residence.  Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of Charity Ministry Fund.
