FORDE, Sister Maureen, SC A Sister of Charity of Halifax for over 60 years, entered peacefully into eternal life on October 7, 2022, at the age of 82. She was the beloved daughter of the late Daniel and Nora (Kennedy) Forde; sister of Sheila (John) Harris, Kathleen (Kitty) and Patricia, all of East Falmouth, MA, the late Michael Brendan of Boston and Provincetown, MA, Eileen of Naples, FL, Daniel (Patrick) of Tucson, AZ, Bill (Terry) of Rockland, MA, Noreen (John) Hickey of Marshfield, MA and Tim (Joanne) of Milton, MA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews; as well as cousins in the U.S., in Canada, and Ireland. Sister Maureen spent many years in New York teaching on Long Island and in Brooklyn parishes, as well as co-managing a group home for at-risk girls. She returned to her beloved home parish of Saint Peter’s, Dorchester, MA, where she taught for several more years before retiring to Marillac Residence at Mount Saint Vincent, Wellesley, MA in 2013. Sister Maureen was known everywhere for her generous spirit, her wonderful laugh and big smile. She loved her students and treasured her years teaching, and especially loved mentoring new, young teachers. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM, in Saint John the Evangelist Church, Wellesley, MA, with a Wake beginning at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will take place following the Mass at Saint Mary Cemetery, Needham, MA.
