BEALE, Sister Maureen SC Sister Edward Maureen, a beloved Sister of Charity, Halifax for 60 years, entered peacefully into eternal life with her God, on February 27, 2025, at Elizabeth Seton Residence, Wellesley, MA. The only daughter of the late Mildred (Miller) Beale and Edward Alfred Beale, Sister Maureen was born in Dorchester, MA and grew up in Saint Peter Parish, Dorchester, MA. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Beale, Charles Beale, Reverend Robert Beale; her nephew, Terrance Beale; and her niece, Elizabeth Beale. Sister Maureen leaves her brother, Richard Beale; her nephews, Christopher Beale, Timothy Beale, Thomas Beale and Patrick Russell; as well as her Sisters throughout the Congregation. Sister Maureen’s life in ministry was marked by her unwavering commitment to the poor. As a consummate educator, she began teaching at Saint Joseph School, Needham, MA. From there, she spent her entire life in ministry at Saint Peter School, Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School, both in Dorchester, MA and Saint Patrick Grammar and High Schools in Roxbury, MA, as a teacher and Vice Principal and Principal. Wherever she was missioned, she coached sports teams, taught Religious Education classes and found herself involved in congregational and parish liturgical services, as an accomplished guitarist and organist. Throughout her life, Sister Maureen continually responded to God’s invitation to be shaped and reshaped as clay in a potter’s hand. Her compassionate heart and constant sensitivity to the needs of her students changed many of their lives. As a dedicated Sister of Charity, she made the love of God visible to all whom she encountered. Funeral Services for Sister Maureen Beale, SC will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Mount Saint Vincent, 125 Oakland Street, Wellesley, MA. Wake at 9:15 AM, followed by a Prayer Service, at 10:15 AM and the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45 AM. Interment at Saint Mary Cemetery, Needham, MA, immediately following the Mass.
