CONNORS, Sister Glenna Lee SC Beloved Sister of Charity, Halifax for 66 years, entered peacefully into eternal life with her God on January 28, 2024, at Elizabeth Seton Residence, Wellesley, MA. Sister Glenna was born in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Bernetta and Thomas A. Connors. She leaves her loving brother, Thomas, and his wife, Paula; her nieces, Meghan and her husband, Travis, Heather and her husband, Eric, Shannon and her husband, Scott; several grandnieces and grandnephews, all of Iowa; her cousins; as well as her sisters throughout the congregation. Sister Glenna’s primary focus was education, but her desire to fully embrace the mission of a Sister Charity, which is to make the love of God visible to others, led her is to embrace several pathways. She began teaching at the Oliver Junior High School, Lawrence, MA and from there, she taught at Saint Michael School, North Andover, MA and Saint Patrick School, Roxbury, MA, before serving as principal at Saint Margaret School, Dorchester, MA. She returned to the classroom at Monsignor Ryan High School, Dorchester, MA. Moving away from the classroom for a time, Sister Glenna served as Pastoral Associate at Saint Philip Neri Parish, Waban, MA and at Atlantic Fund Raising, Needham, MA. She taught music briefly at Saint Francis of Assisi School, Medford, MA and returned to parish service as Pastoral Associate at Saint John-Saint Hugh, Dorchester, MA and later, at Saint Peter School and Parish, Dorchester, MA., where she was engaged in Music Ministry. For the past sixteen years, Sister Glenna was involved in Spiritual Direction at her parish, Immaculate Conception in Weymouth, MA. Funeral Services for Sister Glenna Connors will take place on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Mount Saint Vincent, 125 Oakland Street, Wellesley, MA. Wake at 9:30 AM, followed by a Prayer Service at 10:15 AM, and the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45 AM. Interment will take place at Saint Mary Cemetery, Needham, MA, immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sister Glenna Connors may be made to the Sisters of Charity Retirement Center, 125 Oakland Street, Wellesley, MA 02481.
