This picture recalls the early hours of January 31, 1951. On the coldest night in Halifax, Mount Saint Vincent Motherhouse burnt to the ground. Sisters, novices, postulants and students watched the blazing fire destroy their home.
Despite the devastation, not one life was lost during the fire. For this, the Congregation has been eternally thankful.
