Introduction
By Sister Kati Hamm
This edition of Charity Alive includes reflections on two Charity “Family” gatherings that some of our sisters took part in over the last few months. We thank them for sharing these experiences with us. We were intrigued by the title of the book reviewed this month by Mary Beth Moore – Ministry for the Future: A Novel. Mary Flynn writes about Bishop Reilly High School , one of four co-institutional High Schools sponsored by the Diocese of Brooklyn in the early 60’s. Carrie Flemming invites us to listen to the stories of ministering to recent immigrants, and to feel the depth of charism, dedication and love that our Sisters pour into their work. Finally, Sister Susan Smolinsky gives us a glimpse of how the call to service changes us and grows our hearts in every season and most especially at Christmas.
