We were very saddened to hear about Sr Laura. She was a great friend to us and we shared many happy times in Halifax and when she came to visit us in Ireland. We had to privilege of meeting her when we came to Halifax to visit my great aunt’s grave who was also a sister of Charity.
We will certainly get a special Mass said here in Newry, Northern Ireland for her and our lives are richer for having known her.
‘Ar dheis De go raibh an anam, ag suaimhneas leis na naomh’ Translated from Irish.. Her soul is now with God resting at peace with the saints’
I got to know Laura when she worked in the accounting department at the Motherhouse. She was always kind and gentle, even when I was late with my accounts. I also loved to hear her speak; she never lost her Irish accent.
