Sister Joan Therese was my first Superior when I was missioned to Saint Nicholas of Tolentine Convent in Jamaica, New York, immediately following my formation in Halifax. She was warm, caring and encouraging; she fostered good community among the Sisters entrusted to her. She helped me with my first forays into teaching as well as into living community as a Sister of Charity. I shall always be grateful to her for her kindness and care.
